| Today, 9th of February 2007, marks the start of somehting new..I've finally relented to my friends' persuasions and start blogging. Actually, there are other reasons why I want to start blogging. 1. Coz sem hvnet started yet; 2. Coz no tv, and got super fast internet connection, but not many people on9; 3. Coz i'm rotting at home due to boredom; 4. Coz everytime I put a vague nickname on msn, tonnes of people ask me bout it and I malas to retype long long stories for uncountable times.. I think that's all.. So now lets start the ball rolling with my first few days punye experience in PERTH. Oh yeah I'm in Perth now.. Well, !5 of us reached safely in Perth International Airport, didnt face much complications at the customs, except for michelle.. Pity her, she got her rice n chinese herbs confiscated..And when I retrieved my cargo bag from the carousel I realised the wheels on 1 side of my bag was totally gone!! I wonder how these stupid airport people handle my bag!! And when the Curtin Airport Pickup man came with the van-like thingee to fetch us to the hotel, I tried to push down my hand luggage's handle, but it jz wudnt go down!! So the man was kind enuf to help me hentam the handle, hoping it will get down, but wut happened?? The handle broke!! So much for helping me man..I had like so much difficulty transporting my bags!! Esp to and fro the hotel! Thank God there were friends like yijia, siawtze and others ard..This is the time when I reali missed you GUYS..wenjun, chauwang, jingguo..u guys normally alwiz help me wif heavy heavy stuff wan ma..But other than that, everything's fine..We had free dinner sposored by Pn Haslina, our 'bonda' in Australia..She flew all the way from sydney to welcome us and brief us on sum stuff..She's quite nice la.. =) We went to this asean cuisine restaurant..Let me give you an insight on how expensive food is here. The nasi lemak which I ate was 8 bucks!! 8 aussie bucks man!!Nasi goreng was like $8.50 or $9! And nasi goreng pattaya was $9.50!!Here's the highlight: Roti canai 2 pieces is $5.50!! What the...??? In Msia mamak we can easily get 1 piece for wut.. 60 cents?? Gosh! Don't even think of converting man..Otherwise you'd end up plucking grass and leaves and start eating.. The next day when we reached campus, to my residential office, we had this briefing and watched a quite-dumb video on fire prevention b4 we got our keys and checked into our new homes..I had not much prob with my bags coz there was this senior in charged of my hse ppl (me, yeefang, yijia & siawtze) who lifted my 26.9kg bag wif jz 1 hand!! like super geng man..and all of us are like constantly talking bout him now..haha..yeefang said he's quite lengchai..ahem ahem..haha..hope she's not angry that I'm including this.. =P wel, so he's philipino and his name's lee..haha..surfer kinda appearance.. Now to get on with other things..Weather is like super hot here!! Jz being outdoors for 1 day can get u sunburnt!! But we did alot of shopping these few days..1st trip to this small (smaller than giant shahalam sec17) shopping mall was kinda exciting, coz we naik the bus told to us by the senior, but we didnt noe where to stop, so we happily missed the shopping mall..Its called karrawara btw..And there was no KARRAWARA sign on the building or nething!! So cant blame us for missing it k..So we jz stopped at the nx nearest bus stop and walked blindly towards the direction from which we came from..And we stopped this disabled man on this machine wheelchair kinda thing and asked him for directions..And another couple of guys..And finally we reached there..Ate nandos, and shopped for stuff..We had an appointment wif this lady in charged of sponsored students, so we went bek to campus, met her, and went 2 karrawara again and shopped for 2nd round..Got so sick of karrawara that day man..Nite time we tapau-ed pizza and had dinner together..That was when we realised that in the fridge, there were xtra stuff dat didnt belong to amy of us! Like a loaf of bread, butter, jam, a box of milk and a bucket of fruit juice..! So we started thinking whether sumone moved in while we were out..But no one appeared that night from either of the rooms, and no one came bek to sleep..It was quite freaky tho.. The nx day we went to campus and did our enrollment stuff, made our ID cards, (the ang moh guy who took our pic for our ID cards, yeefang n siawtze say lengchai oso..aih..haha..den turns out to be my perth friend's friend!) opened bank account and all dat..that took up the whole morn and noon..and when we came bek yeefang tried to on9 and she cud!!Everyone was like trying but oni she cud and no one else cud!! but aft a few hrs she got dc and cudnt get on9 anymore..And den suddenly we saw lee walk past our hse!! so we went out fast fast and were pushing each other to cal him as he semakin further away, but no one wanted to..until..yijia gathered up her courage and yelled "MR LEE!!" and ran bek into the hse..Gosh we all started giggling and laughing like orang gila there..den we realised dat he actually heard and was walking bek to us!! So when he came we stopped laughing, told him about our internet problem, and he went in and did sum stuff..but stil cannot on9..he said he oso dunno why adi..so he jz left lidat n we all rotted in our hse, apart from the hse meeting we had on wut stuff to buy to furnish the hse..By now, we were already joking and half taking it seriously that the xtra stuff in the fridge was a welcome gift from lee to us!! Yeefang even half decided to eat the stuff the nx day!! The next day I met up wif wancheng, my 2ndary skul fren who was already doing her 2nd yr pharmacy this yr eventho she's same age as me, coz she came immediately aft SPM..She took us out to this place called carousel, which was another shopping mall..big konon..small la..compared to our midvalley and 1U..oni 1 floor summore..!! But i managed to shop for alot of stuff there..From frying pan to comforter to dustbin..And that is also where I got my new optus number :0434032138. Aft spending like 5 hrs there we finally headed home wif all our new stuff plus vege, chicken, potatoes and all dat..Reali felt like an aunty/hsewife dat time man..what to do..hv to do marketing so that we'l hv stuff to cook ma..Cant afford to eat out every meal la.. Wen we came bek, we got a surprise when a chinese gurl popped her head out and greeted us! She from china and it was super hard to decipher what she spoke..So I cudnt get her name.. Then, everyone tried to on9 again..sadly, 1 by 1, everyone managed to on9..xcept poor me..I even called tis helpline, but aft putting me on hold for so dem long and finally taking down my details, the lady happily said "ok..we'l check it out and get bek to u say..in a day or two.." SUPER frus man!! And even aft stopping another senior oso stil cannot on9!! I was beginning to think there was sumthing wrong wif my laptop..Can u imagine the agony of being so left out when everyone's in their own room chatting wif friends and family, while you cant on9 or get in touch wif anyone?? I nearly cried and felt so miserably homesick man..But then yijia had a dinner invitation from her perth friend and she was kind enuf to lend me her laptop to on9..So then I chatted sadly wif wenjun and jingguo and a couple of other people..And jingguo was like teaching me how to fix the prob..So I click here click there..And then I tried to on9 wif my own laptop again and TADA!! CAN ADI!!!! I was like sooooooooooo super happy man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cried tears of joy man!!!! Soooo super grateful to jingguo..Hey jingguo, you'l b getting lotsa lotsa chocolates from me!! =D And then with internet, I on9 gila gila..chat wif everyone possible, check my long neglected emails, read other people's blog and all that..And slept quite late.. This morn sum stayed in, sum went out to carousel again..So me, yijia, mich n lingweng decided to go to the lib to borrow sum books..But while making breakfast, a senior came bringing a chinese lady to our room, wif all her bags..And there was this man wif her, which she introduced to us as "This is my husband..Dun worry..He's jz helping me wif the luggage.." Yijia and I were like "OH..." I mean, she looks so young!! Like 2os la.. Husband?? Wow...But neway, we left them to themselves, and we went to campus..So i got myself a weird storybook, and stayed in my room the whole day reading..While yijia, mich n lingweng later decided to go out to carousel again and meet up wif yeefang and siawtze. So I was alone at home, and suddenly decided to wash my clothes..But when i went out of my room, I was surprised to c a malay gurl there!! We chatted a while and I found out that she's from kl!! Actually Mich and Lingweng are staying wif a couple of malays in their hse and since there were 2 fridges in each hse, the malays there demanded that 1 fridge was for their use oni!! So now that Mira appeared in my hse, our fears started..Well, up to now, I hvent spoken to her much..And she hasnt asked for the fridge or nething..But I guess it's oni a matter of time.. Neway, after washing my clothes, I went bek to my book and read until I fell asleep..I was awakened by the sound of sumone calling my name outside my door..When I went out, the chinese lady who reach this morn said that there was a cal for 'jiahuei'..So I went and answered the cal..Aft finishing my conversation, I was bout to walk bek to my room, when the chinese lady stopped me and asked whether I knew whether there was anyone who came and brought food stuff for her..I was in a monologue like "oh shit!! so the stuff belongs to her!!!" So i started to show her the stuff that were not ours..And I realise yeefang had already eaten her loaf of bread and officiated her butter!! So I was apologising there and saying we would buy it bek for her..She was quite nice tho..She was like "its ok..dun worry bout it.." But why the heck did she hv sumone send her food prior to her arrival so much earlier?? We were nearly bout to thank lee the nx time we bump into him u noe!! Thank God we didnt get a chance to do that..otherwise it would be utterly menyiasuikan (sean 2007)..But the surprise didnt end here..She went on introducing herself. She said "Sori I've not introduced myself..My name's (sumthing-dat-sounded-like) Aishah. My eyebrows went up and was like ........... She continued "So wel, I'm a muslim and so I wun b using any of ur kitchen utensils" *gesturing towards the bowls, pans and cutlery which we bought the past few days* So it WAS Aishah that I heard..Gosh..Didnt I get a shock!! Wen I was half awake summore!! Reali man..What a day.. |
